Registrar Special Duties Swears in New Engineers Registration Board Member
The Registrar Special Duties, HW Harriet Ssali, today officiated at the swearing-in of a new member of the Engineers Registration Board, Colonel Engineer Robert Namudongo.
The ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Works and Transport, Maj. General Katumba Wamala, and attended by the Under Secretary at the Ministry of Works and Transport, alongside other members of the Engineers Registration Board.
In his remarks, the Minister underscored the critical role of the Board, noting that the quality of roads, buildings, and public utilities depends heavily on adherence to professional standards.
He stated that the appointment of Col. Namudongo strengthens the Board by bringing on board valuable experience from the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF).
The Minister further highlighted the contribution of the UPDF Engineering Brigade to national development, particularly in executing infrastructure projects in challenging environments.
He urged the newly sworn-in member to serve with integrity, transparency, and professionalism.
The Minister also reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to working closely with the Board to ensure that infrastructure delivered across the country meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and value for money.
